Snow Photo Shoot

Shelly took some super cute pictures of my kids in the snow at Spooner Lake. It was pretty cold and the snow was SUPER deep but they were troopers and the pictures turned out SOOO good!

This was the toughest meet so far. There were alot more competitors and as the season goes by the judging gets harder. So...you try to improve your scores but we were happy she was staying within the same scores. She didn't medal in any of the events but placed in all around. Jessie was pretty upset but Auntie Jen and Paige came to watch and Paige brought her a best friend necklace. Jessie's frown was turned upside down pretty quick.

Douglas vs Carson

Douglas High School is in Minden. Carson High School is in Carson City. They are about 10 miles apart. It is a HUGE rivalry. Much bigger than Dietrich/Shoshone was when I was growing up anyway. It was worse when we first moved here. I remember when Brent was student teaching and we went to the basketball game. They had police at both ends of the court and when the game was over they had Carson fans exit through one end of the gym and 15 minutes later they had the Douglas fans exit through the other end of the gym. Well this year Douglas won the basketball match.

We had Brookie's cheer competition in Sacramento and then Jessie's meet in Reno the following day. She did really well. She medaled in every event and all around again.

Jessie on bars. They don't allow flash photography at the gymnastics meets and they don't allow you to go up close to the event so it's very hard for me to get pictures of Jessie. I bought this one from the professional photographer that was there. It's hard because they just kind of walk around and take random pictures. I was happy they got this one of Jessie.

Brookie is Jessie's biggest cheerleader. Gymnastics meets are very different from cheer competitions in that you don't scream and shout and jump up and down during your teams routine like you do at a cheer comp. At a meet you yell "go Jessie" prior to their saluting the judge for their event. And then when they salute to finish you can then yell "good job Jessie". That's pretty much it. However, not if your sister is Brookie! Then you hear LOTS of "go Jessie's and good job Jessie's and you rock Jessie". I love that the entire gym can hear Brookie cheering on her sister! Happy mommy moment!

Braden and Nikki are such good sports. This year Brent stayed home with the younger kids a few times. Cheer competitions can be a very long day!

Brookie and Braden have spent alot of time with Daddy playing basketball. They are both getting really good and sure have a fun time playing together.

Braden and Nikki have to go to work with me once in a while for an hour or so. THEY LOVE IT! They get to play with Auntie Bean and she lets them watch Toy Story 3 on her Iphone.

Braden getting off the bus. It is so nice to have the bus pick him up and drop him off right in front of the house. He absolutley LOVES riding the bus. I remember the first day last year. I rode with him because he was crying and it was his first day. Then for about 2 weeks I carried him onto the bus screaming and kicking and had to hold him down and buckle him in. I had to give him a kiss and then walk off the bus and cry myself because it was so sad!

SNOW!!

We have had lots of snow so far this winter. Daddy is always ready to put on the winter clothes and get out the sled.

Starting the year off in Idaho!

We were in Idaho for the first day of 2011. We went to Tyler and Lain's house to see the newest nephew and cousin. Kyler Telford. It's always fun to go to their house during the winter. They live in Preston and it is beautiful. They have a house that sits up next to this huge hill that makes the perfect sledding and snowmobiling hill. It was a blast!

Brookie's friend Tenielle came with us. Those two and Ashley had a great time playing together and slept in this tiny little play area under the stairs.

My mom would definelty qualify as the woman I most admire. She's giving Jessie a rub down. Grandma Telford gives and gives and gives. She is the most selfless person I know!
